What has been your biggest online win? Qualifying for Irish open 2008 is my biggest win to date. 3. How many satellites did you enter before you won your ticket to the Irish Open 2008? This was my 4th time taking part in a satellite for Irish Open. 4. What games do you play on paddypowerpoker.com – cash/tourneys/both? I only play tourneys. 5. When did you start playing poker online? I started playing online 2 years ago. 6. Where did you learn to play poker? I learned how to play on paddy power.com. 7. What is the most memorable hand you’ve ever played? I got a royal flush about a month ago online, my first one. 8. Have you ever shouted at your computer screen? I shout at the screen the whole time! 9. What’s your perfect night out? A game of cards in Pa Kavanagh shed till about 6 am of a Saturday morning! 10. What advice would you give to someone looking to qualify for a major live tournament on ppp.com? Just keep trying. 11. What do you think your chances are in the Irish Open 2008? Slim enough, but you never know. Someone has to win it. 12. Who is your favourite poker player? Scotty nguyen. 13. Do you play much live poker/ What is the name of your local cardroom? I play most Friday nights in Kavanagh card room/shed. 14. You are on the bubble in the Irish Open. You have 30,000 chips. You raise to 10,000 with AK and your opponent puts you all–in. Do you fold into the money or do you try and build a stack to make a run at the title? I would fold into the money. 15. Describe your style of play. I try to mix it up a bit. 16. Sunglasses and iPods – good or bad for the game? iPods are good to stop boredom. 17. Have you ever been to Las Vegas? No, but I’m going there next may. 18. What would you do if you won the Irish Open? Stay in the MGM Grand for a month! 19. Would you like to be a professional poker player? Yes. 20. Are you superstitious? Do you have a good luck charm that you bring with you to the table? No, don’t believe in any of that 21. What is your strategy for Day 1 of the Irish Open? To survive until day 2! 22. What has been your biggest online win? Qualified (twice) for Irish Open 3. How many satellites did you enter before you won your ticket to the Irish Open 2008? 3 or 4 4. What games do you play on paddypowerpoker.com – cash/tourneys/both? Both, but not for big money. 5. When did you start playing poker online? 2004 6. Where did you learn to play poker? As a child with neighbours when I was 8 years old. 7. What is the most memorable hand you’ve ever played? 1973: Bought 1 to three 4’s and filled four 4’s. Dealer bought 2 and filled 4 jacks. Lost a fortune for the time! 8. Have you ever shouted at your computer screen? Many times. Lucky escapes and bad beats!!! 9. What’s your perfect night out? A meal and live traditional music session or theatre with my wife and family. 10. What advice would you give to someone looking to qualify for a major live tournament on ppp.com? Have patience, wait for the cards, and think “what has the other guy got……..”. Read Dan Harrington’s books. 11. What do you think your chances are in the Irish Open 2008? I would be delighted to get to the last day. To win would be a miracle. 12. Who is your favourite poker player? Daniel Negreanu 13. Semi aggressive 16. Sunglasses and iPods – good or bad for the game? Does not bother me, but I prefer to be able to talk to the other players. I’m a social animal. 17. Have you ever been to Las Vegas? Once, but on business, not to gamble. 18. What would you do if you won the Irish Open? Pay off a few debts!!! And take the family on a nice break, possibly to USA 19. Don’t remember. This tournament probably was. 3. How many satellites did you enter before you won your ticket to the Irish Open 2008? I only played one. 4. What games do you play on paddypowerpoker.com – cash/tourneys/both? Tourneys 6. What’s your perfect night out? Anywhere with my lovely girlfriend. 7. What do you think your chances are in the Irish Open 2008? Cant to say now! 8. Who is your favourite poker player? Gus Hansen, His head looks cool. 9. You are on the bubble in the Irish Open. I signed up mainly because of the many satellites for live events. 2. How many satellites did you enter before you won your ticket to the Irish Open 2008? I am lucky to have won it on my second attempt. 3. What games do you play on paddypowerpoker.com – cash/tourneys/both? I just like to play the Sunday tournaments. The 150k guaranteed is a great tourney as well as those live event sats. 4. When did you start playing poker online? About 3 and half years ago. 5. Where did you learn to play poker? I used to play Magic, the Gathering competively. During big tournaments a lot of players would play poker after they busted out. That got me curious and after playing a bit I have been hooked ever since. I really learned how to play poker by playing on the internet, reading and discussing hands through. 6. Have you ever shouted at your computer screen? I sure did on a couple occasions. 7. What do you think your chances are in the Irish Open 2008? I am really looking forward to playing the Irish Open. I have been concentrating a lot more on tournaments recently and I feel good about my game. I like my chances. 8. Sunglasses and iPods – good or bad for the game? I don’t mind those. I don’t think wearing sunglasses really gives you an advantage. I like to have an iPod with me at the table. I don’t listen to it all the time, but if there is a lot of chatter at the table or if I want to concentrate I just put my headphones on and I am good. 9. Have you ever been to Las Vegas? I won a Satellite for the Bellagio Five Diamond WPT two years ago. It certainly was a memorable experience, although I really did not have too much of a clue about no limit holdem tournaments. I have wanted to go again since but couldn’t quite make it. I am definitely going to the World Series in 2008 though. 10. What would you do if you won the Irish Open? I don’t think my life would change much at all. I would just play a couple more big live tournaments. |
