Ciaran Burke Flops Nuts; First Out of Day 1d

The first major action in the last Main Event Day 1 happened just a few feet away from the bloggers’ bench.  It involved a flop of Jd 9c Kh, seen by Peter Cahill (pictured) and Ciaran Burke.  If you were paying attention to the title, you’ll know that Burke had flopped a straight with T-Q.  Stacks flew in, and Cahill tabled Jh Js.  He needed the board to pair, and pair it did – with the Jc on the turn, giving him quads and a 60k+ stack in the first half hour of play.
